Farm Credit Announces Latest Grants to Support Western North Dakota Communities

Farm Credit organizations in western North Dakota today announced 22 grants totaling $427,900 to worthy programs that will improve lives in local communities through the Rural Community Grant Fund. 

The fund was established as a partnership between AgCountry Farm Credit Services and Farm Credit Services of Mandan – the two largest providers of agricultural loans in western North Dakota – and AgriBank, their St. Paul, Minn.-based funding bank, to help communities impacted by mineral development. 

Grants support critical community needs such as health, safety, and emergency services. 

The latest grants include:

$35,000 to Douglas Fire Protection District for a fire hall addition
$30,000 to Great Plains Food Bank for a food bank vehicle
$30,000 to Southwest Healthcare Services for a new ambulance
$30,000 to Westby Rural Fire Protection District for a radio upgrade
$29,000 to Tolley Fire Department for a fire truck 
$29,000 to Newburg Rural Fire District for a brush fire truck
$25,000 to St. Luke’s Home, Inc. for an emergency generator
$25,000 to Golva Rural Fire Protection District for a fire truck upgrade
$25,000 to Southwest Area CTE Academy for a mobile lab vehicle
$25,000 to Matthew 25 Project for facility improvements
$20,000 to Trinity Health Foundation for an infant transport chamber
• $20,000 to Columbus Rural Fire Protection District for a CET foam trailer
• $15,000 to Benefit Fund of McKenzie Health for a medication delivery system
• $10,000 to Pick City Fire Department for a fire hall addition
• $10,000 to Sentinel Rural Fire Protection District for fire hoses
• $10,000 to Beulah Rural Fire Protection District for a fire truck
• $10,000 to Zap Rural Fire Protection District for firefighting equipment
• $10,000 to Portal Ambulance Service for an ambulance cot
• $10,000 to Ward County Sheriff’s Department for a law enforcement K9
• $10,000 to Burlington Rural Fire Department for a sprinkler system
• $10,000 to St. Luke’s Northern Lights Villa, LLC for a kitchen renovation
• $9,900 to Stanton Rural Fire Department for an emergency generator

The Rural Community Grant Fund is accepting applications for programs that meet the needs of local communities impacted by expanded mineral exploration and production in western North Dakota.
